I discovered intenSati in 2007 while I was raising my four beautiful boys, working part-time as a licensed counselor, and had recently completed my yoga training. I was always interested in finding exciting new practices to do at home to complement my yoga practice. When I discovered Patricia Moreno, she was offering really fun classes such as Yoga Dance and Yoga Kickboxing. There was something about the energy in her classes that got me hooked! I went on to continue to follow her and discovered her creation of the intenSati Method, which so aligned with the work that I do as a therapist, as a mom and for my personal enlightenment.

As time went on, I was experiencing life like people do and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2010. I went through different treatments, some ups and downs, and there were really hard decisions I had to make. And of course, I praised intenSati for keeping me in alignment with my health and well being.
It was in 2016 when I was, again, faced with a little uprising in the lymphoma area and had to make some tough decisions about chemotherapy and treatment. Do I do holistic health only? Do I use traditional medicine? All those questions I had to answer and decisions I had to make. I remember it like it was yesterday – it was October, and I had to make this decision on how I was going to supplement the healing of my body. And my husband told me, “just go to your intenSati practice. It always makes you feel better and clears your mind. Just take a breath.” So I did!
I Put on my DVD and did my intenSati practice, and cried and laughed and shouted my affirmations, felt all the feelings, all the good, beautiful things that intenSati does. By the time I was done with the practice, my workout, I knew I needed to teach this. That was the decision I came up with after! Forget cancer!
intenSati Practice Benefits Transformed Me & Inspired Me to Share It
I knew 100% I needed to teach this practice. I need to become an intenSati leader. And so I went online and discovered that in November, just a month later there is a leader training in New York City. Now being from Michigan, this is about a nine-hour drive and me and my husband are always up for good road trips and adventures.
And so when I told him, “hey, I need to teach this practice! I’m going to New York City and becoming an intenSati leader!” And of course, his response, “excellent, I’m going with you!” So we took our little road trip just a month later, I went through leader training and became an intensati leader. It’s now 8 years later and I still live and breathe this practice.
I continue to teach this practice and live this practice in all ways in class with students, in my one on one practice with my coaching and I counseling clients. And it is the practice that has made hard decisions become a little bit easier. I also really contribute my positive parenting to intenSati. As part of my leader training, I participated in The Practice – an additional one year training, 365 days of morning practice consisting of meditation, intenSati, journaling and breath work.
We concluded the year with a VIP event in NYC. At the event, when Patricia asked me, what is the biggest thing you felt or experienced through this training, through this one year? It took me a minute because I wasn’t really prepared for the question. And then I realized ~ I don’t yell at my kids anymore. I’m more patient, I’m present, I’m calm. I didn’t expect that.
Expected different answers like, I have better breath work and my body is stronger and I have new tools for my clients. But the most important thing, what matters the most that I gained, which was being a better mom. I remember being snappy at my kids at times and not having the patience to just pause. And now I do. I consistently do, because I practice intenSati. And now my mind is more focused, I’m calmer, my nervous system is at a state of ease more often than not. I am happier overall! And I can move through the challenges like cancer a little bit better.
So, intenSati is not just a practice, it’s a lifestyle. And I teach it and I live it and I love it. It’s part of who I am and I am so grateful for it.
